Kitchen Magic is a free Lightroom preset that draws out the delectable colors of food, fruits, vegetables, spices, and other culinary ingredients. It makes them visually appealing and mouthwatering. You can expect your photos to have vibrant colors and cozy warm tones.
This preset looks great when presenting dishes and various table settings. Its high-contrast and saturated aesthetic makes food and drinks look delicious, fresh, and juicy. You can use this casually and professionally, from sharing your everyday meals on Instagram to shooting restaurant menus. If you are looking for an appealing filter to use, you should definitely try Kitchen Magic.
Creates an Inviting Atmosphere
Cozy Warmth. The preset creates its signature homey look by blending color temperature and accent tones. To reinforce their visibility and brightness, Kitchen Magic first increases the exposure of the image, thereby giving it more light to work with.
It then warms the color temperature and increases the magenta tint. This creates a cozy and creamy look. It furthers this bright and sweet motif by adding a warm brown tone in the highlights. This adjustment makes sure that the entire image looks cohesive.
You can observe the result in the After photo above. It is easy to notice how much brighter and warmer the After photo is. Look at the bright white areas, too: instead of being plain white, it now has a tinge of light brown. The sparkles behind the drinks no blend more seamlessly with the orange or peach background.
Produces Bright and Crisp Tones
Taste and Texture. Kitchen Magic translates food and texture to visual elements. This is, after all, what is vital in food photography. Aside from its color enhancements, it also optimizes tones for depth and definition.
To make this possible, the preset brightens all tones but moderates them in the tone curve. This is coupled with enhancements in contrast; while tones are made lighter, the contrast helps retain the right tonal intensity. You can easily examine the effect in the example above. Look at the egg, the warm and brilliant honey drizzle, and the enhanced crispness of the dish.
Intensifies Color and Midtones
Rich Hues. Kitchen Magic, like its tones, also intensify colors. It does so moderately and at varying levels. It amplifies vibrance and saturation to produce rich and deep colors in food. This goes hand in hand with the overall warming as well.
It also preserves much detail by amplifying clarity and sharpening. The first develops midtones further, while the second draws out details even more. You can see all the results in the After photo above: because of these enhancements, you can now appreciate more of the dishes, from the presented ingredients to the artistic plating. Desserts look more enticing because of this preset.
Refines Color Saturation and Luminance
Vibrantly Appetizing. The preset primarily boost the saturation of red and green, the colors that we associate with taste, especially in fruits and vegetables. Then, in contrast, it deepens other colors. To make them all look luscious and fresh, it boosts the luminance of all colors, except the already vivid red.
The example above demonstrates the effect very well. Look at how illuminated the ingredients look, particularly the pepper, tomatoes, and leeks. Also, observe how this preset processes whites in an image. Its gold sunlit warmth blends with the rich hues and transforms the mood.
