Creates a Warm and Light Aesthetic
Blend of Warm Tones. To create a warm and cozy feel, we blend warm color temperature, some magenta tint, and light brown tonal accents. This is how the preset produces a warm aesthetic without washing out tones. As you can see in this photo of the gift boxes, New Year’s Party preset retains depth but minimizes the intensity of shadows. The overall result is a light and homey feel, which we think is perfect for a hopeful celebration of the coming year.
Moderately Brightens an Image
Brilliance. The light aesthetic of this preset does not come from a simple exposure adjustment. We instead optimize the tones to reinforce the style: we brighten whites but mute highlights for a matte look, then lighten shadows. This helps reveal details that could be concealed by harsh highlights or shadows. This definitely works well on portraits! With this preset, you can soften the shadows on the subject’s face.
To more finely tweak the brilliance, we also tinker with the Luminance settings in the HSL panel. Here we make orange, green, blue, and magenta brighter than other colors. This adds balance to the overall image, too! Plus they look amazing on skin tones.
Reinforces Details
Clear Details. We make sure to bring out most of the details in your celebration shots, without overdoing them. We moderately increase clarity and sharpening, just enough to make the elements pop more. It is best to keep them looking natural, as you can see in this image.
This photo is also a good example of how the preset warms a photo. Compare the backgrounds and the overall brilliance. This preset can really, and instantly, transform the mood.
Produces a Custom Color Motif
Holiday Colors. As you can already tell from the examples above, this works well as a holiday preset. You can all the festive feel without making shots look artificial. You get the defining colors, too. We create this custom look by adjusting the hue and saturation of colors. We make yellows and greens warmer, then we pull purple and magenta towards the cool spectrum. These settings balance out the entire aesthetic.
