Vivid Hues and Details
Crisp and Vivid. This preset attempts to replicate morning sunlight, which is warm and delicate. It adds light to photos by increasing its base exposure and warms it by adjusting the color temperature. See how sunny the After photo looks now.
In addition to these lighting improvements, the Bright White preset also enhances textures for a well-rounded vivid look. It boosts clarity and sharpening to draw out the details, and decreases both contrast and vibrance to create the desirable matte finish.
As a result of these, look at how detailed the leaves appear in the After photo now. They are so well defined that you can clearly see their margins and veins. It also reveals so much of the flowers and the woman’s hair.
Produces Bright Yet Soft Tones
Light Tones. Given the adjustments above, you can tell that this preset for Lightroom is partial to light and bright; it then softens this effect with another batch of tweaks in texture.
For this look, as you can observe in the above image, Bright White does lighten all tones: it increases the sliders for highlights, shadows, whites, and blacks. It also boosts light tones in the tone curve.
Look at the After photo above: all of the sky is bright with white, so are the women’s tops. The picture now looks like a true summer scene. The overall aesthetic gives the shot a more professional look.
Applies Fine Adjustments in Toning
Blended Hues. Amidst all the brightening, Bright White also finely adjusts the levels of saturation and luminance in colors. It intensifies green hues to serve as an accent; in most cases, like the example above, it will accentuate foliage and other elements of nature.
The preset also decreases the saturation of middle and cool colors and boosts the luminance of both warm and cool hues. As a result, you get a bright and sophisticatedly toned matte image.
Let us examine the photo above. With the decreased saturation of purple and magenta tones, you can notice how the reds, including those of the wall and the flowers, appear softer. The same goes for the man’s checkered shirt. These warm tones are even more softened — or mattified — with the reduction of luminance. Notice how this effect draws your attention to the more saturated greens.
