Winter Holidays Free Lightroom Preset

Winter Holidays

The Winter Holidays preset is a free lightroom preset that gives images with a cooler, enchanting and wintery feel. It is perfect for taking outdoor landscapes or portraits during the winter season.

Collection: Winter Lightroom Presets
Best For: Indoor, Outdoor, Snowy Landscape, Diffused Lighting
Style: Cool Blue Color Temperature

This winter preset for Lightroom does a great job at creating a color motif. It has a set of deep cool tones that enhances the feels of the winter holidays. Greens look deeper and richer than usual, which is ideal if you are capturing landscapes or even Christmas trees. You will also notice how it optimizes the brightness in every shot. Just look at our examples below.

Creates Rich Cool Hues

Rich Colors. This snowy pine cone in the photo above has an increased blue color temperature after applying this winter preset for Lightroom. Its custom settings in the blue channel create a vivid blend of cool tones. Its deep and cooler greens make it stand out, even among our best winter Lightroom presets.

As you can tell from the example above, this preset is perfect for photos that show a lot of trees, or a Christmas tree. The cool hues of this preset make it more suitable for outdoor photography, however. If you want to use it indoors, we highly recommend our Christmas Lightroom preset that we specially designed for the holiday season.

Adds Blue Tones in Shadows

Vibrant Ice. Take a look at the blue tones that this preset adds to the shadows. You can see it easily in this photo of a snowy bridge. As you can see in the After photo, the winter landscape now looks colder and even icy.

Notice how you can see most of the blues in the darker areas of the image. This is the advantage of adjusting tones specifically for the shadows. As a result, the depth is accentuated both by intensity and hue. It works perfectly on winter landscapes that show a lot of texture.

Adjusts Saturation for Winter Scenes

Color Boosts. For this example, see how the green color saturation is increased. You can also notice an increase in contrast, whites, clarity, and darks in the tone curve. This preset for Lightroom dives into the details even further by customizing its camera calibration settings.

In the After photo, examine the strip of green at the corner shop. The preset made it richer and more saturated, which is a nice contrast against the mostly white winter scene. This setting will look even better on shots that have a lot of trees and other Christmas decorations.

Brightens Photos and Enhances Details

Bright Snowy Landscapes. Another obvious setting of this preset is its brilliance. We just have to make sure that the snow looks clean and brilliant. The preset creates this effect by tweaking the highlight and shadow sliders. The result is balanced, as you can see in the picture above. The After photo is now much more brilliant without losing any details. But for good measure, Winter Holidays preset also sharpens textures in an image.
