Creates a Complex Cinematic Look
Warm Cinematic. Although inspired by vintage films, Eyecandy produces complex tones that make any photo look cinematic. It combines several attributes to create its signature look. It begins by slightly warming color temperature and amplifying green tint. These two combine to create the lime hues that coat the After photo above.
The preset enhances this aesthetic further by also adding colors to both ends of the tonal spectrum. You can find yellow-orange in highlights and blue-violet in shadows. These more intricate settings accentuate midtones and help blend Eyecandy’s warmth throughout the visual elements.
Reinforces Tones for Definition
Deep Dark Tones. The preset reinforces depth and definition by increasing contrast and intensifying blacks. It then softens shadows to make sure that they do not look harsh on any scene. Try to examine the result in the After photo above: you can see more of the details on the building façade, the balcony railing, and the black car in the foreground.
Vibrant. Eyecandy heightens dark tones even further by creating an S-type tone curve. This augments the tonal range for greater contrast. To complement this, it also increases clarity levels to strengthen the midtones.
The preset carries this amplification over to colors by boosting vibrance. Unlike saturation, vibrance primarily affects the midtones. It intensifies colors but preserves the natural look of skin tones and some greenery. As you can tell from the example above, this setting optimizes the preset for outdoor photography.
Enhances Texture and Adds Film Effects
Classic Film. The preset finally enhances textures by increasing its sharpening. You can easily see the result in the After photo’s dramatic clouds and detailed beach sand. Eyecandy complements the crisp details even more by adding a lot of fine grain. Look closely at the sky and the ocean waves.
