If you want a preset that combines natural tones with the timeless look of analog photography, this is the one to go for. It enhances colors and tones but does not alter them so much. Its understated tones also create a stylish and elegant look. Keep in mind that this preset works best on bright scenes, especially diffused sunlight.

Creates a Classic Film Look
Matte Film. Film Fanatic preset sets its stylish soft matte look by creating an S-type tone curve with light shadows and dimmed highlights. This softens both light and dark regions. You can easily see the result of this adjustment in the example above. Try to compare the Before and After backgrounds: Film Fanatic subdues the originally bright white or high key background. Notice, too, how this softening transforms the mood of the portrait.
To complete the analog camera look, the preset also adds fine film grain. This is, after all, an expected element in most retro film emulations. To some extent, the grains even help enhance the photo’s overall texture. They add character to light regions as well.
Lowers Saturation Levels
Understated Elegance. The preset subdues its colors by desaturating them. This means that images appear less colorful, but not necessarily less expressive; the lighter hues even draw out and heighten the mood or drama.
The preset more specifically lowers the saturation levels of cool blue hues. This means that in an outdoor photo like the one above, the sky and bodies of water would look grayer. Try to examine the effect in the After photo: the blue sky now has dramatic clouds in gray tones. This simple adjustment undoubtedly adds an exquisite layer of drama to the scene.
Intensifies Vibrance
Vibrant Hues. The preset preserves some colors and amplifies them more conservatively using the vibrance slider. Unlike saturation, vibrance affects midtones instead; it amplifies without making them look artificial. This is, of course, vital to any type of portrait. To enhance this look further, Film Fanatic also increases contrast for definition.
