Sets a Unique Color Motif for Coasts and Beaches
Relaxing Hues. You can think of this premium preset as the cousin of the popular orange and teal, but on a softer and cooler temperature spectrum. You can easily notice the preset’s primary scheme in the coastline of the After photo above: the crystalline sky and water, rich brown beach and terrain, and the subdued darker greenery.
We create this motif by pulling orange and yellow hues to darker shades. This instantly affects browns. On the other hand, we lighten cool colors by drawing them towards the aqua spectrum. The result creates a stunning contrast between land and sea/sky, as you can observe in the After photo.
Light and Airy Coasts. The color adjustments do not stop there. We also temper the intensity of tones by lowering saturation levels, except for orange and magenta. This makes sure that we retain the color integrity of terrain and skin tones.
Lastly, to produce deep colors, we lower the luminance of all colors except for aqua and purple. This keeps skin, sky, and water look well illuminated.
Softens Tones in Landscapes
Softened Tones. To complement its light aesthetic, we also soften both light and dark regions and create a narrow tonal range. After all, we want to make sure that there are no harsh highlights or shadows.
You can easily see the result in the After photo above. Examine the mountain’s crevices and the field in the foreground. Their shadows look milder now. Even with the more delicate look, also notice how the preset is able to keep most of the landscape’s natural textures.
We enhance the effect further by tinting tones with light gray. Combined with the adjustments in tonal intensity, this setting makes sure that bright areas would look closer to neutral. This helps draw attention to the landscape itself and add a calm atmosphere.
Defined Midtones. Coastal Breeze retains much of the photo’s original depth and detail because of the midtone adjustments that we apply. For this particular effect, we increase both vibrance and clarity levels. So, even with all the lightening settings, the photo remains clear and not washed out. You can compare the details in the Before and After examples above.
