Brightening. To create a cool white winter look and feel, Warm Winter Colors lightens blacks and illuminates whites further. It is more finely adjusts and moderates this effect in the tone curve region settings: it softens lights and shadows and deepens dark areas for greater definition.
Look at the difference in the example above. The After image looks much brighter and livelier, now with more intricate hues and tone.
Moderates Highlights and Shadows
Balanced. This preset handles the extremities of tone very well. It moderates both highlights and shadows to reveal more detail: highlights are softened while shadows are lightened. Warm Winter Colors preset thus produces a balanced mix of the two.
You can observe the excellent tonal improvements in the above After photo. Notice how all these adjustments come together and transform the mood of the urban scene. It creates such a wonderful winter or Christmas atmosphere.
Amplifies Light, Tone, and Color
Deep Tones. Warm Winter Colors preset increases clarity, vibrance, and saturation. This, therefore, means that it intensifies light, tone, and color.
These enhancements give further definition. They give the image body; as a result, it is no longer flat nor washed out. See how the leaves in the After photo look stunningly vivid with rich, deep, tones. They even look so real now. We love how the result looks so natural but with beautifully enhanced tones.
Creates a Cozy Winter Feel
Cozy Winter. The preset slightly increases the saturation of blue hues. This enhances some whites to add rich milky tones to snow. This adjustment reinforces the winter feel.
Then, to give add a cozy vibe, Warm Winter Colors decreases some magenta color saturation. It also moderately lowers the luminance of red, blue, magenta, and some orange and purple.
