Cool and Serene. The Valentine’s II preset primarily sets its romantic atmosphere by coating images with a delicate blue tone. It creates this by cooling the color temperature and lightening magenta tones. These two adjustments blend well to create a dreamy or ethereal feel.

You can examine the result in the After photo above. Pay close attention to the blue sky in the background. Notice how the blue hues are now more vivid. The preset enhances the colors even further, as you can see in the succeeding examples below.

Increase Vibrance and Saturation Levels

Natural Vibrance. The preset enhances its colors conservatively, amplifying vibrance and saturation only moderately. It tries to accentuate colors but maintains a natural look. As a result, your photos get rich colors without becoming artificial.

The preset also increases contrast levels to broaden tones and add more definition. This tweak is further refined by intricate tonal adjustments.

Darkens Tones

Accent Tones. In addition to the enhanced contrast levels, Valentine’s II also darkens all tonal regions by lowering highlights, shadows, whites, and blacks. This means that all bright areas would look subdued, while the dark ones look more vivid. You get can get deep and true blacks because of these settings.

As you can tell from the couple’s portrait above, these adjustments held add depth and definition. These also produce a nice contrast against the cool blue tones. Try to closely examine the man and woman’s skin tones and their thick, finely textured, clothing.

Enhances Details

Smooth and Clear. The preset balances a lot of attributes to produce its strikingly professional look. In this example, you can see how Valentine’s II processes textures. To create a smooth look, it reduces noise and decreases clarity. You can notice this by observing the bride’s bright white gown in the After photo: the patterns look less defined now. The mid-tones are softened and there is less depth.

The preset, however, balances this with an increase in sharpening. This refines and draws out the important textures. Again, Valentine’s II does not overdo it; the ground, as you can see above, is not coarse. All these textural settings combine to produce a polished photo.
