79th

79th is a free film Lightroom preset that will give your photos a retro feel. If your images call for a soft and vintage look, this is the preset to use. Its undersaturated yet light hues will remind you of Polaroid instant prints.

Collection: Film Presets, Soft Matte Presets, Vintage Presets
Best for: Versatile, Indoor and Outdoor
Style: Soft, Matte, Magenta Hues, Vintage

This is a versatile vintage-looking preset that beautifully replicates the charming look of old film. You no longer need an analog camera to produce this. Among all our film presets, this is the softest one because of its moderated colors and highlights. More on these adjustments later on the examples below.

A Unique Vintage Look and Feel

Timeless Air. This 79th preset creates its own RGB settings and a custom tone curve with high shadows. To soften the look further, it decreases contrast, which is easily observable in the example above.

Notice the warm tone that also coats the image now. It is a soft brown hue that gives off an elegant vintage feel. Because of it, there is now a nostalgic and timeless appeal.

The beauty about this preset is that you can use it even in simple everyday moments. Its tender matte texture, after all, will turn any scene into a moment worth capturing. Try it on your next Instagram post, however candid the image may seem.

Soft Nostalgic Portraits

Softened Portraits. This preset also works wonderfully on portraits. Its gentle tones, as mentioned previously, look great on skin tones. To enhance this even more, the preset subtly reduces clarity as well. This thus serve as a smoothening effect.

Sentimental Mood. You can notice how softer and smoother the little girl’s portrait is now in the After photo. The mood has transformed because of this: from what looked like an ordinary day-to-day snapshot, to a fondly preserved moment. It now appears tenderhearted somehow.

Muted Tones in Matte

Washed Out. 79th preset simulates photos shot on analog cameras. It is a stylistic film effect that has an unmistakable texture; images do not look detailed and are rather hazy.

This only intensifies the nostalgic mood it evokes. The elegant creamy tones that are unique to this retro preset are, moreover, making pictures look artistic. To produce this classic aesthetic, 79th preset mutes some whites, and adjusts shadows and highlights.

Undersaturated Hues for a Classic Film Effect

Old Film. The films that analog cameras use tend to be partial to some tones. In the case of this 79th preset, the vintage look that it copies leans more towards warm colors. To achieve is effect, mid and cool tones are desaturated.

Notice how there is no particular color that stands out in the After photo above. The blue hues in the sky even look washed out. Greens are muted as well. With this 79th vintage preset, scenic photos will have an attractively pensive atmosphere.

79th preset is for Lightroom Mobile, Desktop and…
